Central Election Commission (CEC) is working in emergency regime in connection with second round of 2016 parliamentary elections being held in Georgia today.  CEC is delivering the periodic reports on violations during the day. According to CEC a certain number of ballots may be declared invalid in Marneuli.

According to Adjara Supreme Election Commission, according to 18:00 data, 40 complaints have been presented to the polling station and 8 to the constituencies so far.Sophio Kakhadze, the secretary of Adjara Supreme Election Commission reported in that regard. According to her the voting is ongoing in a peaceful environment in general.

The facts of beating and procedural violations in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia, which occurred during the second round of 2016 parliamentary elections being held in Georgia today. National Movement and Georgian Dream are accusing each other with regard to incidents. Irakli Kobakhidze, Executive Secretary of Georgian Dream said that the incident was provoked by UNM. Investigation has been launched under Article 125 of Criminal Code into the incident in Gori - Albert Merebashvili, a supporter of United National Movement (UNM) Party was beaten at Sobisi Election Polling Station. Ten people physically assaulted Merebashvili when he arrived at the polling station to make his choice. He was taken to UNM regional office and rendered first medical aid. Merebashvili claims that the attack took place on political motive.

At the #63 majoritarian constituency several voters claim that they have eaten tangerines, spray of which makes marking effect and it created problem while checking them on marking at the polling station.As a member of the commission Irma Seperteladze explained the same problems have occured at polling stations in Batumi, however after washing the hands phosphoric trace disappears.According to chairman of the constituency Commission Ramaz Seperteladze, the abovementioned voters were asked to wash their hands and when they went back, marking again observed and they were rejected from taking part in voting.

The voter turnout for 15:00 is 25.3%, Central Election Commission (CEC) says. The members of United National Movement (UNM) Party have held an informational briefing regarding the violations detected during the voting process in the second round of 2016 parliamentary elections.

Irakli Kobakhidze, Executive Secretary of Georgian Dream held a briefing at the party office about proceeding of the second round of 2016 parliamentary elections.Kobakhidze said that election process was generally being held in peaceful environment without major violations. He also called on participating political entities for abstaining from organizing provocations and urged voters for being active. 

The non-governmental organization Free Elections says that the second round of 2016 parliamentary elections is being held in peaceful environment in general.Representatives of third sector who are monitoring the election process will be providing journalists with the information about the election process during the day. 

Supporters of United National Movement (UNM) Party demand repeated holding of elections and annulations of results at #50 Polling Station of Kizilajlo village, Marneuli district of Kvemo Kartli region. UNM claims that elections are being forged in Kizilajlo. Representatives of Georgian Dream describe the allegations as absurd and accuse UNM of organizing provocations.

The election process is being held with violations in Marneuli town of Kvemo Kartli region, Ahmed Imamkuliev, candidate of United National Movement (UNM) Party says. According to him, Georgian Dream activist Sharman Abdul Rakhmanov intimidates voters in the village of Kvemo Sarali. Imamquliev said there are photo materials confirming this. ‘The same kind of violations is seen in the village of Orpolo, as well as in Kizilajlo 50th and Marneuli polling stations,’- he claimed. Georgian Dream candidate Tamaz Naveriani said this information is not true and the voting process is underway peacefully, in a democratic environment.  

Former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili made his choice in the second round of parliamentary elections. He said that he voted for ‘right future of Georgia.’ Ivanishvili arrived at a polling station together with his family members.

Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili voted in the second round of 2016 parliamentary elections. President cast his ballot at #6 Polling Station of Mtatsminda Election Constituency. 

Elene Khoshtaria, Majoritarian (single mandate) MP candidate of United National Movement (UNM) Party in Vake district of Tbilisi has cast ballot at #12 Polling Station. Khoshtaria said that she voted for democratic development of the country. 

Law-enforcers were called at #18 Polling Station of Mtatsminda Constituency last night. According to Central Election Commission (CEC), three unknown people entered the station.The three persons introduced themselves as being members of election commission. It was found out later that the persons were observers of a political party. The CEC does not name the political party due to interests of investigation. 

The voting process is over at Matrosov Prison and Batumi #3 Penitentiary Facility. The Center for Development and Democracy observed the election process. The organization has 100 observers at election constituencies and central election commission. 

Davit Bakradze, Leader of United National Movement (UNM) Party cast his ballot at #27 Polling Station of Mtatsminda #1 Election Constituency.Bakradze expressed hope that the second round of parliamentary elections would be held in peaceful environment and Georgia would not have one-party parliament. 

A minor incident took place at #3 Polling station in Marneuli town of Kvemo Kartli region. Election observers had a verbal conflict. The second round of 2016 parliamentary elections is being held in Georgia today.
