The facts of beating and procedural violations in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia, which occurred during the second round of 2016 parliamentary elections being held in Georgia today. National Movement and Georgian Dream are accusing each other with regard to incidents. Irakli Kobakhidze, Executive Secretary of Georgian Dream said that the incident was provoked by UNM. Investigation has been launched under Article 125 of Criminal Code into the incident in Gori - Albert Merebashvili, a supporter of United National Movement (UNM) Party was beaten at Sobisi Election Polling Station. Ten people physically assaulted Merebashvili when he arrived at the polling station to make his choice. He was taken to UNM regional office and rendered first medical aid. Merebashvili claims that the attack took place on political motive.

Some voters claim at polling station that "tangerines makes marking effect"

At the #63 majoritarian constituency several voters claim that they have eaten tangerines, spray of which makes marking effect and it created problem while checking them on marking at the polling station.As a member of the commission Irma Seperteladze explained the same problems have occured at polling stations in Batumi, however after washing the hands phosphoric trace disappears.According to chairman of the constituency Commission Ramaz Seperteladze, the abovementioned voters were asked to wash their hands and when they went back, marking again observed and they were rejected from taking part in voting.

Voting process underway with violations in Marneuli- UNM says

The election process is being held with violations in Marneuli town of Kvemo Kartli region, Ahmed Imamkuliev, candidate of United National Movement (UNM) Party says. According to him, Georgian Dream activist Sharman Abdul Rakhmanov intimidates voters in the village of Kvemo Sarali. Imamquliev said there are photo materials confirming this. ‘The same kind of violations is seen in the village of Orpolo, as well as in Kizilajlo 50th and Marneuli polling stations,’- he claimed. Georgian Dream candidate Tamaz Naveriani said this information is not true and the voting process is underway peacefully, in a democratic environment.
