Conflict in ruling coalition

The conflict between Republicans and Industrialists in the ruling Georgian Dream Coalition is becoming tenser. Investigation launched by Prosecutor’s Office about interim elections held in autumn in Sagarejo Constituency of eastern Kakheti region has served as the ground of confrontation.

Tina Khidasheli, Defense Minister accuses Gogi Topadze from Industrialists of leading anti-western campaign. “MP without political weight,” Khidasheli thus described Topadze today. She also claimed that Topadze’s efforts were targeted at merging of Republicans from the ruling team.

Criticism was heard in address to Chief Prosecutor of Georgia. The media had questions to Industrialists today.

The draft-bill about Genetically Modified Organisms, in case of approval of which Topadze announced about his intention to quit MP mandate earlier, was adopted today. However, Topadze rejected to leave the ruling team.
