Charged person into Demur Sturua’s case goes on hunger strike
Goderdzi Tevzadze, charged person into case of Demur Sturua, 22-year-old man who committed suicide in Samtredia town of Imereti region, launched hunger strike. Tevzadze pledges innocent.
Tevzadze was transferred to Kutaisi #2 Penitentiary Facility last night. Tevzadze’s lawyer called on Ministers of Internal Affairs and Penitentiary to ensure security of life and family of the charged person. Tevzadze arrived at Western Georgian Regional Prosecutor’s Office and surrendered to law-enforcers. He was hiding during 3 months.
The family of Demur Sturua, 22-year-old man who committed suicide in Samtredia town of Imereti region, demands punishment by law of Goderdzi Tevzadze, charged person into Sturua’s case.
The family members will hold a protest at Samtredia Police Department on September 15 and will demand its reorganization, dismissal of police department head and other persons suspected into Sturua’s case.
