Lawyers of Demirel College Head apply to Georgian government with request
Lawyers of Demirel College Head Mustafa Emre are asking the Georgian government to grant a refugee status to their defendant.
The detainee’s lawyer Soso Baratashvili says that if Cabuk is extradited, he will be tortured and inhumanely treated in Turkey. But if Mustafa Emre Cabuk receives refugee’s status the extradition issue will not be discussed.
According to him, Georgia’s Public Defender and international organizations are following the processes and it is generally known that Mustafa Emre Cabuk has been unfairly detained.
As a reminder, on May 25, Tbilisi City Court sentenced Demirel College Head Mustafa Emre Cabuk to three-month pre-extradition detention. Mustafa Emre Cabuk was arrested on charges of cooperation with terrorist organization.
