National Communications Regulation Commission makes statement about demand of GPB

The demand of Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) regarding advertising does not contradict to the legislation - the Georgian National Communications Regulation Commission (GNERC) made this statement.

According to Kakha Beqauri, Head of the Commission, news are planned for day-time broadcast programming and in limited amount. 

The changes are prepared by 13 members of the parliamentary majority. The new version clarifies that GPB has to allocate no less than 25% of its products to programs prepared by private legal juridical persons. The GPB retains the right to carry out research on target audience.  

The package of amendments will be discussed starting next week in format of extraordinary sessions.
