GNERC launches working on electricity tariff issues despite tensions during session

The Georgian National Energy Regulation Commission (GNERC) has launched working on the tariff application presented by Telasi despite tensions and uproar during the session. The Commission head and members still conducted the voting process. 

Patrol police officers are also attending the session. They were called in as the session was suspended due to the tensions. 

Representatives of Georgia’s Labor Party also attended the session. One of the party leaders called on the commission not to change the electricity tariff in Georgia. It was followed by tensions and the session was suspended. Shortly it started again but there were still tensions and uproar. Afterwards, Patrol Police officers entered the building. 

Telasi Company applied to the commission with request of establishment of electricity tariffs on August 4.
