New academic year begins in occupied region

The new academic year has begun starting September 1 across Georgia’s occupied Tskhinvali region. Occupied Akhalgori met September 1 with closed borders. Some teachers and pupils are failing to enter the occupied region.

Teaching in Georgian language is prohibited at schools and kindergartners. Russian language textbooks are already delivered.

Academic year in occupied Abkhazia will begin on September 4. There are about 27 thousand pupils in Abkhazia. Out of 156 schools 59 are Abkhazian, 46-Russian, 15 – Abkhazian-Russian, 25 –Armenian and 11 Georgian.
